Evangelists like Smith Wigglesworth, who were faith healers that were renowned in the 20th century, were roving faith healers that took world trip and healed people. These faith healers also claimed to wake up people from the dead by taking Jesus’ name and telling them to rise up and live again.

The number of faith leaders started to increase gradually. One such faith healer that became really popular with time was Aimee Semple McPherson. Although she came from very simple origins she great pain to make sure that her evangelization and her sayings made her a star all over the USA and Canada. Although she had the gift of speaking in tongues and she could heal physically, at no time did she draw attention to it. Most of her main sayings for conversion and faith in God were about enthusing people to move towards a more spiritual mode of worship and put down all other desires behind.

Suffice to say that even though Aimee Semple McPherson did have the gift of faith healing, she did not put undue focus on it. But, there are thousands of new faith healers that pop up every day. You will find that preachers like Benny Hinn are also supposed to be faith healers and for their faith healing to work, the patient should have faith in God. Several unsuccessful faith healing processes have been ascribed to a lack of faith on the behalf of the affected patients.

Lack of sufficient proof to prove how this process of faith healing works, but it does seem to work for some people.
