Canberra is the capital of Australia and came about as a compromise between Sydney and Melbourne. The city is well planned integrating the environment and the cityscape making the city a true haven.

Sydney is the largest city in Australia and it is where most of the most famed landmarks of the country are located. These are the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. It is also the most expensive place to be living in Australia.

Darwin is the smallest as well as the northernmost Australian city capital. It started from being a pioneer outpost and port to become one of the most culturally diverse and modern cities in the country.

Brisbane is the third most populated city in the country and has been steadily climbing the world stage for its culture, architecture and landscape.

Adelaide is a city surrounded by parkland and the inner city is laid out like a grid with many large roadways bisecting the many squares throughout the city. It is also one of the favored cities for festivals and sporting events.

Hobart is located in the island state of Tasmania and started out as the central penal colony in Australia. Now, it has flourished as the commercial as well as governmental center of the island of Tasmania.

Melbourne is the second most populous city in Australia and its Central Business District is the linchpin of the city. The city’s eclectic architecture, spacious parks and multicultural habitués make the city a true melting pot in Australia.

Perth is one of the most dynamic areas to be living in Australia. The city’s burgeoning economy based on its port and mining businesses making the city one of the most exciting cities in the country.

So as an immigrant to the country and when given a choice on what place you would choose to start living in Australia, it is best you do your research to get all the facts before making a decision.
