The UFC 116 gambling main event looks on paper to be quite compelling for MMA fight gambling buffs.

But it will likely be anything but compelling when the rubber hits the pavement and UFC gambling champion Brock Lesnar and Interim Champ Shane Carwin step into the Octagon.

Lesnar will wipe the mat with Carwin in sports betting and quite likely earn a KO win versus the mining engineer from Colorado. Carwin, while his track record in the run-up to this UFC 116 odds event could be impressive, is simply not in the same class as Lesnar as a contender.

A lot has been made of Lesnar's past career in Vince McMahan's traveling WWE circus as a performing circus clown. His credibility as an MMA contender has been critically questioned since his UFC wagering debut and goes on to be all the way up this UFC 116 wagering competition. But it's not fair, and crazy, to compare what he's doing now in the UFC Main Events to what he did in his fake wrestling days.

Lesnar (4-1) has gotten better with every game and has shown exceptional progress as an MMA contender during his short career. He joined the UFC wagering as a robust but raw contender and gradually his expertise and athleticism have been perfected into a quite impressive MMA wagering champion.

Carwin has not fought anybody even close to Lesnar's talent level inside the Octagon in spite of being the owner of an ideal MMA gambling track record (12-0) and the UFC 116 odds competition will be a rude awakening for the man. Granted the heavyweight division of the UFC right now is a little thin but still the list of fighters that Carwin has defeated versus tournament that Lesnar has defeated is actually not even comparable.

But nobody who's ever fought Carwin has seen the second round. His impressive win over Frank Mir in his last match at UFC 111 secured Carwin the interim heavyweight championship. And with an unbeaten track record of 12-0, you'd feel he'd have earned some value. But he is still viewed as the underdog by the sportsbooks. Carwin himself has stated that if he touches anybody with his hands, he can knock them out. He's fairly assured in his own expertise.

Carwin and Lesnar have several similarities and that may make the UFC 116 gambling competition fairly interesting, at least for a while, but Lesnar should have his way with Carwin and perhaps even knock him out. Both are intense in their fighting methods and are former wrestling champs.

The two were originally set to encounter each other at UFC 106, before Shane Carwin won the interim heavyweight championship, but Brock Lesnar pulled out of the match due to an illness that kept him from training.

UFC 116 odds bettors are likely to see lots of striking and with these robust men that opens up lots of possibilities for a KO. And Carwin is most almost certainly going to be it if anybody is going to get Knocked out in this UFC gambling game.

UFC 116 is timetabled for July 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Don't forget to check out the rest of the match gambling event on the card for UFC 116.
