It just seems fitting that the UFC 116 wagering competition will be hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With such an interesting and high profile event, boasting two incredible MMA competitors, Vegas seems like the only appropriate place for such a major event as the UFC 116 odds tournament. The fight will be held, needless to say, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 3.

UFC betting buffs have been spoiled recently with what seems to be an un-ending supply of great UFC Main Event matchups that proceeds through the UFC 116 betting Main Event as well. Heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar will fight Interim heavyweight victor Shane "The Engineer" Carwin in the main competition of the UFC 116 odds extravaganza in what may very well be the most fascinating MMA wagering bout of the year to date.

The undefeated Carwin, who won the interim belt from Frank Mir at UFC 111, will be fighting Lesnar, who will be defending his belt as he returns from a bout with diverticulitis.

While Carwin's nickname may not be all that daunting, he's a man that knows his way around the Octagon and will be very likely be the toughest adversary that Lesnar has ever fought in his MMA wagering career. Carwin has a perfect 12-0 track record in MMA betting and is one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC odds tournament.

Nevertheless, Lensar will secure the UFC 116 wagering event. Carwin is no push over and is in fact one of the top heavyweight contenders in the UFC in quite some time. But Lesnar is simply a once in a lifetime type of athlete who simply looks to get better with every fight.

Lesnar has rather a minor body of work going into the UFC 116 odds tournament in contrast to Carwin's 12 MMA bouts. With only 5 UFC betting tournaments on his resume and career track record of 4-1, Lesnar is still quite green. Nonetheless, for any MMA wagering buff that has ever seen Lesnar in action there is plenty of reason to think that he'll be 5-1 after the UFC 116 wagering competition is ended.

To see the way Lesnar moves in the ring is proof enough that with a bit more training this guy will be unstoppable, though admittedly he's now rather raw. Every single game he gets much better and he should be at his best fighting form ever when he jumps into the ring with Carwin at the UFC 116 wagering competition.

Lesnar in fact got his start in the WWE, where he was a three time WWE Champ and the youngest person ever to win that tournament at the time. He left in 2004 to go after a career in the NFL, and in fact competed during the preseason for the Minnesota Vikings. After being a late cut there, he came back to professional wrestling at the end of 2005. A couple years later he began his career in mixed martial arts and won his first fight in 2007.

Other fights on the sports betting card in this bout include Wanderlei Silva vs Yoshihiro Akiyama, Chris Lytle vs Matt Brown, Krzysztof Soszynski vs Stephan Bonnar, and Kurt Pellegrino versus George Sotiropoulos.
