Anyone who owns a blog or website has a common goal - how to get more traffic. How to get it is always easier said than done. Most of the problem revolves around the amount of effort required to generate traffic for most types of sites. The steps seem easy, but its the repetition over and over that no one wants to do - even myself. I am going to share a method to supercharge your web traffic with LESS work. Not no work, less work. How much less? Probably 50% less than you are doing now for the same results.
Article marketing in probably the best way to get links to your site, and eventually will result in more traffic. The real problem is the sheer number of articles that need to be done. Additionally, you cannot just blast out the same article to 100 sites, at some point the back link is ignored by Google because of duplicate content. So we need the ability to not spread around too much duplicate content to maximize our back link impact. So the method I propose will get you decent rankings using only five articles. Five? Yes, five articles per keyword.
First of all, do not pick a generic keyword such as "cellphone" or "diets". That is asking for trouble - sure they get massive searches, but you will never get anywhere. And you will need a hell of a lot more than five articles, probably more like 500 articles. Whatever your niche is, pick 3 or 4 word keywords. For "diet" use something like "best weight loss diet" - you get the idea. Google has a free keyword tool to help you - what you want is less than 300,000 competing pages (100,000 ideally) for your term when you put it in quotes into google, and at least 10 searches a day - the more the better.
Next write two articles with this exact keyphrase in it. Take both articles and rewrite them sentence by sentence so you have 2 versions of each sentence. This is called "spinning" the article. I am not going to go over the mechanics of spinning the articles, that can be easily Googled and there is plenty of free software that will output the results for you. The articles should be 400-500 words in length. Next, open an account at Hubpages, Squidoo, Zing, Blogger and Wordpress.com. Place 1 copy of each article on each site, so that each site has 2 articles. Make sure you do not put any url links in the text, brand new accounts with url links in the text tend to get erased/deleted, plus we are going to add URL back later on after we do some linking. There are areas on each site where you can setup a links section in the beginning. Put your links to your website there for right now and that is it. (Side note: Once a few weeks goes by, you can go back in and edit and add 1 link to your text. Make sure its near the bottom. I often just make a resource box type link at the end.) Additionally, once published, make sure you copy/paste the URL of your article as it appears on each site.
The other 3 articles add links using keywords to the Web 2.0 sites you setup for the 2 articles and to your main site. Two articles need 2 links per article in the text using the same keyword. The keyword should be a variation on the keyword you used for the Web 2.0 sites. The links should point to the web 2.0 pages. You will need to use spin text to randomly choose one of the 10 URL's (5 sites x 2 articles each) with your keyword anchor text. This is no different than spinning the article, but instead of text you are spinning the chosen URL. The last article is going to be pointed directly to your main site. Have 2 links in that article, one points to the home URL, one points to an inner page (or you can use spin text to vary the inner page). One needs to be the home URL though.
So once this is done, you need to then blast the 2 articles pointing at the Web 2.0 sites (spinner articles, both) using article distribution software. There are TONS of them out there. I am assuming that you will know what to do here. You will need one that enables you to post to at least 100 sites minimum, and you will need to create multiple accounts. I usually create 3-4 per project and use them a bit (meaning for 1 or 2 other projects) then make some more so they don't get overloaded with articles. The web 2.0 sites your articles are linking to can handle way way more spam type distribution of links than can your main site. Additionally, if one of them get deindexed, you can just replace it. For your main site, you only want to create 10-20 links a day, no more (direct links). For the web 2.0s, easy you can probably make 100 links a day using the article distribution software. You should realize that a lot of directories are moderated, so it will take a bit of time for your articles to get approved. Just keep going at it each day - one you are done with the setup, it maybe takes 20 min a day to submit more articles to each article directory. Repeat this for 10-15 days. Additionaly note we are not that concerned with duplicate content pointing to the web 2.0's - even with article spinning sentence by sentence, there are only so many variations before you will start to get duplicates. Really it will not be an issue most of the time and if you are concerned about it, you can rewrite them a bit more. I have never noticed any issues as long as I use totally different article which points to main site and its not distibuted as much as the others.
What you have done is create 5 SUPER ARTICLES that will get huge backlink juice pointing to them and then later on you change the text in them to point to your site (as discussed above). Note that the majority of your work is done promoting the web 2.0 sites, not your main site. Google a few competitive terms and notice how many web 2.0 sites are in top 10. This is not new and its not rocket science. This method gives you the most bang for your buck, and often times can get a site into the top 20 with just 1 run within a month or 2, sometimes sooner. Obviously it depends on the keyword selected and the competition. A few social bookmarks or forum comments and you got page 1. The real key is focusing a ton of your links redirected through another property so indirectly you are getting big rep from those links.
