A Heart disease is any sickness that affects the natural functions of the heart. The heart is responsible for circulating precious blood, oxygen and vitamins to other parts of the body. There are a range of of disease which affect the heart that can be followed by by various symptoms. If not treated Heart disease can have serious effects on the body and can even be life threateningy.

The various types of heart illnesses are:

Congenital heart disease – this heart disease affects newborn babies when there is a defect in the structure of the heart and the blood vessels attached to it. There may be an obstruction in the blood flow which makes the heart unable to function properly.

Angina – this heart dysfunction occurs as a result of not enough blood and oxygen reaching a particular area of the heart. This normally results in symptoms that produce a lot of pain in the chest cavity.

Arrhythmia – this heart disease happens when there is abnormal electrical activity in the heart. The heart beat may be, either too slow or too fast, regular or irregular.

Dilated cardiomyopathy – This heart condition weakens the heart and causes it to become bigger because it is incapable to pump blood efficiently.
Coronary Heart Disease – this is the most popular form of heart diseas. It happens when the coronary circulation is not functioning properly because of problems with the blood vessels.

Mitral valve prolapsed – this is considered as a valvular heart disease that affects the normal function of the mitral valve so that valve between the left atrium and left ventricle is unable to close properly.

Mitral regurgitation – this is also known as mitral incompetence which prevents the mitral valve from closing properly and so affects how the heart pumps blood.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy – this heart illness impacts the muscle of the heart known as the myocardium and is also the number 1 cause of sudden cardiac death.
Rheumatic heart disease – this condition disrupts the valve of the heart by rheumatic fever and can cause damage to the entire heart and its membranes.
Hypertensive heart disease – Also called hypertension is a illness that causes the blood pressure to be irregular.

Stenosis – is a disorder that changes the structure and function of the right ventricle due to a primary disorder of the respiratory system. It occurs when the blood entering the lung becomes blocked or slows down.

Constrictive pericarditis – is a long term inflammation of the pericardium that can lead to heart attacks.

Heart murmurs – are extra heart sounds produced when there is turbulent blood flow that causes audible sounds.

Tachycardia – is a heart condition which alters the normal range for a resting heart rate. This may be very dangerous and lead to serious complications.

Atrial myxoma – is a non-cancerous tumor on the upper left or right side of the heart. The tumor grows on the wall that separates the two sections of the heart

Infective endocarditis (IE) – is infection of the endocardial surface of the heart that can result in intractibe congestive heart failure.

Supraventricular tachycardia – this illness causes a rapid change in the speed of the heart in the ventricular tissue.

Heart attack – a heart attack takes place when blood flow to a section of the heart is restricted and it is one of the leading causes of death in America.
