Do you find yourself needing more time and effort to stay focus? Are your occupation goals or personal goals struggling because you have not been able to focus 100% on things that actually matter? Although distractions and enticements are part of the world where we live in, there are some plain methods which you can try to help keep yourself focused.

1. Unplug Yourself From The Cyberspace
The internet has been part of our modern-day living life. There are a lot of usable data online but so is misinformation and misdirections. If you find yourself always distracted to news, blogs, sports, social networks or emails, just do yourself a favour and disconnect your internet connection. Getting yourself disconnected from the internet and the outside world once in a while is not a big deal. You might be well startled to find out how many work you can get done using less time.

2. Discover A Purpose to Help Drive You
We usually lack motivation, determination or a purpose. A strong purpose is like a driving force just like fuel is for a car. Without a reason that is big enough, you will hardly make it. If the purpose is big enough, then the how always takes care of itself. Failing is not even a consideration. Clarify your goals and talk to yourself that you will make it no matter what. Is it the million dollars you have in mind or is it the boat you can buy if you accomplish the goal? Work toward your stated purpose in incremental steps.

3. Divide and Conquer
Some people can focus for a long time on a single task while others cannot. As a general rule of thumb, try separating down tasks into smaller bits so they are more achievable. Doing this also helps in tricking your mind into believing that the smaller bits are easier to accomplish. Work while you work but take small breaks such as walking, doing simple exercise or chat with a colleague to freshen yourself up after completing each small task.

4. Benchmark yourself
The next time you work on something or learn something new, benchmark yourself and notice what your working patterns are. Acquire more about your inner views, how you react to tasks/problems, and what factors keeps you motivated and focused. This practise will help you understand yourself better plus recognising both your weaknesses and strengths. You can only improve if you know what to improve in the first place.

5. Involve, Talk and Network
Doing things all by yourself can be a bit boring and hard sometimes. How many times have you found yourself doing all the hard work but still struggle to come up with a solution? As a result, you might also feel unmotivated and be easily distracted into doing something totally unrelated. When you have tried your best to focus and still cannot complete things up, ask for help and mentorship. Individuals who have done similar things before are usually glad to help if you ask courteously.
