Japan is not likely to be much of a threat in 2010 World Cup betting if their previous match is any indication.

They were dominated in a friendly game versus South Korea as they ended up shut down by a score of 2-. That loss isn't going to look great for Japan's possibilities in World Cup wagering.

Japan is listed as 250-1 long shots to secure the World Cup in 2010 World Cup betting. They probably should be more like a million to one. They were not even competitive versus a poor South Korea team. With the Netherlands, Cameroon and Denmark, they're in a challenging group as it is, so the Japanese team may be lucky to get a point. Japan team manager Takeshi Okada said that the goal for his team was to reach the semifinals but that seems really unlikely. Okada was anxious he wouldn't even be coaching in South Africa after the pathetic showing versus South Korea but for now he is nevertheless the head coach. He could wish he was not after the World Cup is finished.

Japan is a 10-1 long shot to secure Group E. It seems as though they should be more of a 100-1. The Netherlands is a far superior team while Cameroon and Denmark are also better. The Netherlands are placed fourth in the world so why Japan is even 10-1 to secure this group is a mystery. They have nearly no shot to secure this group. They do not even have much of a shot to progress. The South Korea team is not that great, and they were not even remotely competitive versus South Korea. South Korea is also listed with odds of 250-1 to secure it all.

Typically you can make a case for them to remain competitive when you look at a team in the World Cup. It's hard to find positives with Japan's recent play. The odds haven't really caught up with how poorly Japan is playing, which is the odd part. Japan is an underdog, but not a massive dog, in their beginning match versus Cameroon. Cameroon is 110 while Japan is 230 and the Draw at 210. It would seem that Cameroon is a great bet in that beginning game according to Japan's recent play.

With a huge audience of more than 700 million people, the World Cup is the most popular sporting competition in the world. With a few of exceptions, it is hosted every 4 years since the 1st tournament in 1930. For the 18 tournaments that have been hosted to date, justsole seven nations have won the championship. With a record five wins, Brazil leads the pack. They are furthermore the only team to play in every tournament. Italy is next with four titles, including the one they won last year. Germany has won 3. With one title each, Uruguay, Argentina, England and France complete the list. Beginning on June 11, the World Cup will finish July 11. The up coming World Cup in 2014 will be hosted in Brazil.
