Along the length of your entire digestive system, from mouth to rectum, lives a world of organisms - bacteria and fungi, including candida yeast species, that live in relative harmony with both each other and the host system. If our internal system is in homeostasis, their existence doesn't impact us.

In fact, many bacteria including candida are very beneficial since they help with a host of important functions such as further breaking down our food, secreting natural anti-biotic substances and even the production of essential vitamins. Once this state of homeostasis is disturbed, chances are that over time this will develop into an intestinal Candida infection.

The chronic use of antibiotics is one of the biggest causes of internal disharmony which severely disturbs the intestinal balance inside the gut. Candida changes from its cordial state to a morbid state when the original state of our intestinal condition is disrupted. The mycelial type forms elongated hyphen shapes that prick holes in the digestive tract lining.

A result of this phenomenon a "leaky gut",causes larger molecules of toxins and partially-digested food to enter the bloodstream. Because they are foreign matter, our body initiates an immune response to counter this threat. Chronic conditions can result from long term exposure to these toxins or molecules and the accompanying allergic reactions.

Some doctors hold the belief that after using medicines, any resulting overgrowth of candida yeast will fix o itself as healthy bacteria are reintroduced into the body. This is Not true. Candida has the ability to crowd out other organisms and prevent healthy bacteria from recolonizing the gut if it becomes pathogenic and takes over large parts of the intestinal lining.

A sufferer of candida contamination of the digestive tract may show many apparently unaffiliated signs. Many intestinal yeast infection symptoms are directly related to the digestive system and include a wide range of common problems such lactose intolerance, chronic diarrhea, excess gas and abdominal bloating.

Patients are often misdiagnosed with irritable colons, also known as irritable bowel syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome can be said to be present when the above-mentioned symptoms are present even as all the blood and bowel tests are normal.

One of the reasons that candida infections are often erroneously diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome is that physicians often do not order the correct tests. Unless the correct tests are done, patients receive treatment only for their symptoms if they receive any treatment at all. The other problem is that detecting candida and making the right diagnosis is really challenging due to the fact that candida is a normal resident in our bodies. a scoring system with a historical health review is a good way to indicate the likelihood of the intestinal candida.

Many other manifestations of yeast infections that are related to an intestinal candida infection area are a result of an immune response. As time progresses, Pathogenic candida can lead into leaky gut syndrome, a malady that ruptures the intestine wall.

An individual suffering from an immune system being over stimulated by Candida and related toxins cause facial rash, eye irritation, sinus congestion, hives, allergies and skin diseases. Severe tiredness and an overall feeling of weakness in the muscles are often experienced by people whose system is stressed by intestinal candida.
