Sebastian Saavedra, a 19-year-old driver, will be the last in the field of 33 after he was bumped from the field three times. Saavedra had 3 years in Formula BMW before making the Rookie of the Year in the 2009 Indy Lights Series.

He will get his start by driving for Bryan Herta Autosport in his 1st Indy Car Series.

Jay Howard, seventh rookie in the 2010 freshman class, gambled and lost. An excellent chance for the Englishman and Sarah Fisher Competing but Howard could have another chance to earn Indianapolis 500 rookie of the year later on.
