Resveratrol has received an enormous amount of publicity recently for its many health benefits. It has been the subject of stories on Oprah, 60 Minutes, Dr. Oz, and an ABC Barbara Waters segment. Resveratrol is an anti-aging product that has numerous health benefits. Resveratrol is thought to possibly be the next medical breakthrough.

Studies on non-human animals such as rats, mice and fish have shown Resveratrol slows the aging process. Resveratrol may help prevent cancer, Alzheimer's, coronary heart disease, and cardio vascular disease. Resveratrol lowers blood sugar and enhances athletic performance. It is also thought to be a great natural weight loss/control supplement. Other possible ailments that may benefit from taking this miracle compound include: spinal cord injuries and cardio vascular diseases.

It is thought that the true power of Resveratrol lies in the fact that it stimulates your bodies defense mechanisms and controls excesses. Since Resveratrol is a natural supplement extracted from the skins of red grapes, there are no known serious side effects to off set its enormous benefits as long as it is taken in the proper dosages.

Because Resveratrol was recently discovered there have been no conclusive studies proving Resveratrol has the same benefits in humans that has had in test animals. However, Dr. OZ said he sees enough potential for positive results that he takes Resveratrol daily.

Although Resveratrol is not said to be the proverbial fountain of youth, it does have enormous potential. It will be some time before the long term benefits of Resveratrol can be proven by researchers. However, people who started taking Resveratrol have reported an immediate improvement in their mood and their energy level. There have even been reports of improvement in some individuals with serious illnesses such as diabetes, some cancers, and irregular heart beats.

Despite having diets high in fat, French people have a low incidence of heart disease and other cardio illnesses. This has been referred to as the "French Paradox". Researchers now believe the reason for the French peoples ability to the eat diets high in fat with limited risk of heart disease is caused by the high concentrations of antioxidants found in red wine. To get the same amount of antioxidants contained in one Resveratrol capsule you would have to drink between 100 and 500 bottles of red wine daily. That's one of the benefits of Resveratrol - it contains high concentrations of antioxidants.

While Resveratrol works to prevent premature aging, in my opinion, the benefit of most importance is the prevention of those hard to cure illnesses. To better benefit from it and to make sure no Resveratrol side effects follow, use the right dosage according to the instruction label on the package
