Kite making has been a hobby for many people in many countries for many years. Outside of flying a kite building it is a great way of showing off your own creativeness for arts and crafts. For children who are searching for new leisurely activities to take up their time during the holidays kite flying is perfect. Ready made kites have recently become more common and are even very inexpensive. Even though a lot of people choose to buy ready made kites, building process that goes out into making a brand new kite on your own is so much more exciting. You can also build your kite in a wide variety of designs and sizes, and with a few materials with these instructions you can proceed to create your own kite with these instructions.

Items needed:
Bamboo sticks
Fishing line
Strings
Plastic bags
Razor
Scissors
Ruler

The Instructions are as follows:
1. Use the knife to cut the bamboo into individual sticks. Make the tallest which will function as the spine of the kite so it can be placed vertically and the smallest piece will be turned horizontal. Then use the string and tie the two lengths together at the centre where it outlines the structure of the kite but ensure that the lengths that separate the cross section bamboo stick is equal and use the ruler to calculate the measurements.
2. Use the knife to make a miniature incision at the end of each bamboo stick, deep enough so that a group of strings can be put through them. Then cut a piece of string and place it through each incision of the bamboo sticks at each section so that it goes around the kite. Then pull the chord around the kite so that it makes a loop at the top of the kite so it can be enclosed a couple times to stabilize the structure.
3. Cut the plastic bag into pieces using the scissor, and make sure it is huge enough to go over each triangle(s) as well as its borders. Then use the glue and attach each part firmly to the borders to ensure that it goes over the string enclosure.
4. Take another group of strings and tie them at every end where they will be fastened together at the midpoint. This is the same area that the chord will be connected to fly the kite.
5. Then attach another piece of string at the ending of the kite to make the tail of the kite.
Tips and Warning
* Whenever you are fastening the plastic bag over kite, you can also utilize spray glue to connect them at the centre to strengthen the structure.
*Each time you fly the kite, try to avoid locations with power lines that will obstruct you from flying it. Many kites end up being trapped in the cables and cannot be retrieve.
* You can use the same basic concepts of kite construction with minor adjustments to create your own kite frames and even shapes such as squares and octagons.
* If you want to make the kite with more strength, create the frame with a bend.
