How to execute a Registry Scan.

Are you having performance issues with your PC? You should review another possible cause of the problem. Your problem might me a corrupt or faulty System Registry. If the Registry is corrupted - meaning there are either duplicate, truncated, or bad links and keys in your Registry, this may be the cause of your problems. It can cause bad performance, extended launch-time and even system lock-ups.

It is important to do a Registry Scan, maintenance and backup upon a regular basis. It is EXTREMELY IMPERATIVE to do this with a trusted Registry Scan and Repair tool. To attempt this with a cheap/freeware tool is an invitation to problems, since most scan tools are clumsy simplified utilities that can damage your system instead of enhancing it.

WHAT is the Windows Registry?

The Windows Registry is the master database of [1] Configuration Settings, [2] Parameters, [3] Values, [4] Privileges, and [5] Location Pointers that is used by both Windows itself and all User Programs to launch and run all applications and utilities. It also contains access-level VALUES for Device Drivers and Counters for profiling System Performance.

The underlying reason for problems associated with corrupt, clogged, and thrashing Registry Entries has more to do with Microsoft's creation-driven tendency of building files, keys, and parameters without any system-level programming for self-maintenance. What goes into a Windows Registry File, Root, or Key rarely comes out unless deleted. Herein lies three problems:

1. Most third-party applications rely on default-level VALUES placed within the Registry's Keys and these are rarely deleted if full or custom versions of their product are launched, or if that application is deleted.
2. The lack of standards throughout the industry has allowed the practice of Registry Values as a means of associating joint and prior-version privileges, again leading to redundant, bloated, and conflicting VALUES and KEYS.
3. When it was originally introduced with Windows 3.1, Microsoft had no idea that Malware/Adware would ultimately bypass its simple Administrator-only security level and wreak havoc on unaware PC users.

WHY is it necessary to do a Registry Scan and Repair on my system Registry?

As a result of the issues discussed above, the Registry becomes bloated with code keys and value entries that are both duplicate and time-consuming items when Registry-Access launches are started. Hence, the typical problem of both slow PC performance and bi-directional pointers that lead to a frozen system becomes fact. Most PC owners have some level of corruption or bloat-state associated with their computer but are unaware of it until their system becomes unstable.

HOW should I perform this vital function correctly and safely?

1. Use a registered and trusted software program to Scan your Registry and identify those entries and KEYS that are either redundant, or corrupt.
2. Then have that system delete the target items and reorganize your Registry.
3. Then utilize the tool or system tools to execute a Registry Backup.
