TV is an essential part in people’s life. In a modern people’s life, a long span of them is watching TV. If we can’t stop watching, how to protect our eyes becomes very important. So what can we do?

Here are some aspects we must pay attention to:

1. Where to place your television.
Your television is advised to be laid in the corner where the light is soft. It should be neither too high nor too low. The centre of the TV should be at the same horizontal line of your eyes. While watching TV, the muscles of your eyes are tensed up. You have to choose a good distance to watch, neither too far nor too close. If it’s too close, it will be blurred and will be easily caused the tiredness of your vision; if it’s too far, you can’t see it clearly. Watching TV lying in bed is the most harmful.
The best way to measure the ideal distance is to unbend your arm, put your hand in horizontal way. If your eyes can just ward off the TV, the distance is OK. In addition, it is better to sit straight forward your TV while watching it, or with the angle less than 45°.

2. The contrast of TV and the lightness of the room.
The contrast should be neither too high nor too low. Some people accustom to turn off all the lights while watching TV. In this way, the contrast is too strong and will be easily tired. The other way round, if the lights of the room are too strong, the TV will be looked gloom and can’t see it clear. So the light should also be appropriate. You can turn on the small lights or red light, and then your eyes are not easily tired.

3. Take control of the time of watching.
You can’t watching TV for too long time, especially the teenager, within 1~2 hours is good. While watching TV, you can close your eyes to have a rest when it is the advertisement time in case your eyes are too tired.

4. Eat more vegetables and fruits.
Fruits and vegetables like carrot, bean sprout, and orange are very good for your eyes. Take in some amount of meat.

In the daily life, just some small movements may change the whole of our life. To be a healthy person is the basic requirement of our life. We need our eyes to see the color for life, not only through the TV, but also through our own experience. So, why don’t you just turn off your TV, go out and experience your life by yourself?
