Do you feel like there is now way for you to gain weight? If you’re anything like I was, you perhaps think that because of your “skinny genetics”, gaining weight is not possible, period. I personally felt the same way, that was up until I was finally introduced with the right method to gain weight for hardgainers like myself. Without further adeu, I would like to share some of those "secrets" that allowed me to start seeing results.

Proper nutrition: The reason you cannot gain weight with fast metabolism is simple, your body is burning more calories than you are taking in. If you are unable to consume the right number of calories, all your hard work goes out the window. The amount of calories we should take in as hardgainers should equal to about 22 times your body weight. Anything less will just get burned and anything more will end up stored as unwanted fat. Just think, the types of foods you eat will show in your appearance.

Keep track of your progress: If you are going to the gym and performing the same routines, with the same weight and same repetitions, your body will eventually feel no need to increase muscle size. You see, your body creates muscle after backbreaking activity by repairing the muscle and making it bigger and stronger. My point is, it is crucial that you add strain every session and push your body to where it HAS to create new muscle.

Add more Reps
Add weight without decreasing reps
Rest less between sets
Add an extra set

Keep your body anabolic: The state in which your body is growing is called anabolism, catabolism is the opposite and should be avoided. After your workout, your body would have used up all your energy and will start to burn off your muscle tissue and proteins in order to create more. This is considered catabolism, a state in which your muscle tissue is sacrificed, your main focus should be to stop this and force your body to become anabolic. Now most of you may know the importance of protein intake following your workout, but more important is the consumption of simple carbohydrates. Now I understand that in most cases these types of carbs are bad, immediately following a workout they can yield incredible muscle gains. the reason is simple, they are fast acting and shoot your insulin up promoting anabolism.

Increasing testosterone levels - Testosterone is easily the most important hormone when it comes to building muscle. Having high testosterone levels will allow your body to benefit from incredible strength and size gains. If you are really trying to maximize results in order to pack on pounds and gain weight fast, here are a few tricks to increasing testosterone naturally:

-Get high quality sleep for atleast 8 hours a night.
-Focus on big workouts that target more than one muscle group.
-Train your legs as much as you currently do your upper body.
-Eat more bananas and avocados.

Resting - Fact is, our bodies create muscle while we rest, not while we are in the gym lifting weights. In fact, while lifting we are actually breaking down the muscle. Our bodies are actually restoring and building the muscle while we rest. If you are in the gym 5 days a week or more, you aren’t giving your body enough time to rest and repair. I recommend working out 3-4 days a week or every other day. With the proper rest, not only will your muscles have time to grow, but you will also be 100 percent for your next training session.
