Gone are the days when people use to watch movies on VHS tapes. Even though they weren’t bad but the quality was just not that good. Advancement in technology has made VHS tapes obsolete nowadays. Today people prefer to carry their data be it movies, songs or games in CD or DVD. Although both of them are equally good but DVDs offer 5 to 6 times more space which results in better quality and more value for money.

Game companies and movie companies have started using DVD to sell their products. But the problem is that to protect their investment and to stop piracy companies now sell their DVDs in a copyrighted format. That means no other person can reproduce the DVD and if done it is considered an offence against law.

But as we all know that DVDs are quite costly and it takes thousands of dollars for a person to set up a collection of DVDs. So if such a person wants to back up his investment he should be able to do so. But how? The solution is to burn a DVD to DVD. Even though normal DVD burning software does not allow copyrighted DVDs to be reproduced but one can easily burn a DVD to DVD by following these simple steps:

• The first and the foremost thing you need before you start burning DVDs is a DVD writer. It is a device that we use to read and write DVDs. Today almost all the newly purchased computers come equipped with a good quality DVD writer but if you happen to have an old system that just has the CD writer there is no need to worry as you can easily buy a DVD writer from any good electronics store and assemble it by yourself.

• The second important step or component that you are going to need is the availability of blank recordable DVDs. These are different from the ordinary DVDs you see in the market as any kind of data can be written on them. These recordable DVDS come in different sizes which you can select according to your requirement but the most important thing is to decide whether to buy a recordable DVD or a re-recordable DVD which can be recorded many times.

• The last part of the procedure is to have good quality DVD burning software. There are a lot of paid as well as free softwares that allow you to burn copyrighted DVDs, so try to get one and enjoy burning at an optimum speed.
So, if you will take care of all these steps while burning DVD to DVD, you would be able to produce good quality DVDs at the end.
