How To Turn Heads and Write Effective Ads

It doesn’t make a difference if you have the all-time best product in the world. Maybe it could heal cancer and end world wars at the same time. Maybe you developed a product that can end hunger and stop the spread of disease. It really doesn’t make a difference, because even though it is wonderful, you won’t be able to sell it if you don’t know how to write effective ads

This “World’s Greatest Product” can’t do anything for ya if you can’t get people’s attention with head-turnings ads. On the other hand, I’ve seen people make a killing on second-rate products because their ads were so well written that you just had to click on it.

For this reason, the ability to write ads (and sales pages!) is almost certainly the most well-paid talent you can develop as a network marketer. There are soooo many aspects of it that I’ll just share with you a few of the most important things to keep in mind when writing ads.

At the outset, before you do anything, you have to identify who your target market is. This is the easiest thing to lose sight of, and many network marketers only write advertisements that sound great to them. You’re not selling the ads to yourself! Your ads have to succeed for the people you sell to! Write down their doubts, wishes, and what they hate. This will get you going with writing targeted ads.

Next you need a headline that will hold attention. Most people don’t look at the remainder of an ad if it the headline doesn’t concern them. Some ideas are how-to’s, questions, intrigue, or an announcement. Some examples could be:

“How to Sign People Up Without Calling Anyone!”

“Are you Ready To Learn The Experts’ Secrets?”

“You Aren’t Making It Big Unless You Know These 10 Blogging Tips”

“Announcing: New Product Cuts Advertising In Half”

When writing an ad, write a whole lot of headlines down and then pick the one you like the best. If you use the first one you come up with, chances are it won’t be the most excellent one you could have used.

Now, you have to promote something complimentary. Nobody clicks on pitches for other people’s business, but they will click if they can get some worth through some sort of free offer. This could be an ebook, interview, webinar, or anything you can think of that your target audience would be excited about. But that’s the key; if it’s too lame, nobody will click on your ad.

Then, make sure you advise them to take action. Test after test reveals that when people are told to do something, they are more liable to do it. This could be as straightforward as “get your free copy here” or “click the link below”.

But there really only is one method to know that you’ve got a good ad, and that is to try it out. Run an ad for a week, then change the headline and run that one for a week and see which does better. Then adjust the body and let that continue for a week. There is no way to know precisely how well your ad will do until you test it.

Keep in mind, if you can get in your prospect’s head and truly appreciate what they are looking for, then you’ve got the majority of the battle won.
