My name is Chas Churchill- a Fitness Trainer with many overweight customers, and this invariably necessitates assisting guys to. Prior to commencing an exercise program and the client receiving my dietary advice, my client and I must know what his medical problem or problems are.
Does the individual standing in front of me have the condition known as gynecomastia or My experience will usually tell me which one but I need the client's physician's diagnosis prior to my programming.
By the way, the 3 words describing the two conditions come from the Greek as follows:

* 'gyne' equals 'woman'
* 'mastos' means 'breast'
* 'pseudo' equals 'false'

If the man has a surplus of glandular tissue, with or without fatty tissue, the conclusion is that he has gynecomastia. If the guy just has too much adipose or fatty tissue then he has false gynecomastia or pseudogynecomastia. He is also invariably overweight in general.

Irrespective of the doctor's verdict and any prescribed drug treatment, a targeted exercise regime is going to be needed along with nutritional and lifestyle changes. I am also taking as read that my client does not want to undertake expensive liposuction or even more expensive and invasive surgery. What is expensive? Bills up to $8500, I believe, and it is certain that the client's Insurance company will not meet the tab because they say that such treatment is purely the client's choice and is, after all, cosmetic.

The next question is, what type of workout regime do I prescribe, as his Fitness Instructor, in order for him to reach his aim to lose chest fat. Well, my client's workouts must embrace a mix of aerobic and resistance exercises. Resistance workout routines are necessary because they build up lean mass to take the place of the lost fat and provide a more sculpted and shaped chest. In addition to this, more calories will be used up because muscle is not inert tissue, like fat, but composed of living fibers which will eat up more calories.

If the client is to get results then he should aim for a minimum of 3 visits to the gym in a week and the exercise program would usually include 30 minutes of cardio-vascular work on 3 separate items of equipment, and my client will need to push hard to ratchet up his heart rate to between 70 and 85% of his Maximum Heart Rate.

How do we figure out a client's maximum heart rate? The starting point is 220 beats per minute, this being the average MHR for a baby and also for the first few years of the child's life. From then on the maximum heart rate will reduce by a beat or so per year. Therefore, you just subtract the individual's age from the base figure of 220 to get at the Maximum Heart Rate. Therefore, if the guy is 50 years of age his maximum heart rate will be 220 less 50 which equals 170 and work] him at a level where his heart rate is in the range 119 to 145 beats per minute while doing his CV . As he gets fitter he will be able to exercise at up to 90% of his MHR, or 153 beats per minute.

After that I would give him some resistance exercises to include all major muscle groups and not simply the chest. It is essential to do this so that we can strengthen the client's body and improve his posture prior to stepping up the program. {The first re-appraisal will normally follow in 4 to 6 weeks after his original program and will typically result in stepping up to an alternating '2 day split', typically like this|Then, 4 to 6 weeks following this we will have a re-appraisal and, if he has made steps forward, his next program will be stepped up to an alternating 'two day split' looking like this|In about 4 to 6 weeks the client is invariably ready for a more specialised program dividing the workouts into an alternating 'two day split' like this:

CV/Upper Body/Abdominals
CV/Lower Body/Abdominals

Subsequently the program may develop even more to target individual areas such as the chest. After a few months a program may typically look like this:

CV/Chest/Abdominals
CV/Back/Abdominals
Cv/Shoulders+Arms/Abdominals
Cv/Legs/Abdominals

There are a number of variations of workouts and each individual wanting to investigate how to lose chest fat is different.

The best part of this article is based around gym sessions but I do recognize from lengthy experience that lots of you men out there don't like gyms, cannot meet the expense of gyms or are simply unable to get to a gym. Therefore, if males are to lose chest fat, they will still need to increase their exercise level with some other method or activity. They will also require some other system of help.

Over the last 2 years I have had a look at other ways by which a man can alter his somewhat fat breasts to a more toned and muscular chest. After all this investigation, the good news is that there are a few methods which are alternative, natural ways with lots of happy users prepared to endorse them.

You wil also find a wealth of information on the website about the two conditions.

Charles Churchill, 68 years young Fitness Instructor. In addition to being a Fitness Professional, I have been a gym user for over 40 years. During this time I have inspired and trained many men to achieve vastly improved Cardio-vascular fitness and, more importantly to them, a stronger and more toned body. Lots of these men had chest issues with many having bad posture through trying to hide man boobs. These were, as I now know, due to either gynecomastia or pseudogynecomastia, so all of this puts me in a unique position when helping men with both problems and giving advice on Lifestyle, Diet, Exercise and the ability to properly evaluate products designed to help with both.
