Do you know anyone who just seem to be able to draw people towards them just like magic? They have the knack of making friends easily wherever they go. They are enchanting and have an easy manner about them. Confidence shines out from them.

A socially-empowered person achieves so much greatness, basically because of the people that catapult him to success. He earns the trust and all-out support of the people, whom he had helped before. He never runs out of assistance. He can do anything with the plethora of people behind him. All because he knows how to make the most of his social potential!
If you develop your social skills and you make use of them, you will reach self-empowerment. Self-empowerment is making a general overhaul in your life and turning yourself into a happier and more victorious person. If you can be one of those people-persons, then I can't see any reason why you will not be successful. You just have to know how to begin.

1. Be sincere.
Hypocrisy will just bring you down. Be genuinely pleasant and interested in people. Once they feel that you are hypocritical with self-seeking intentions, you might as well say goodbye to self-empowerment.

2. Be the best listener that you can be.

To earn the love and trust of the people, listen to their problems and sympathize with them. Do not just hear them out, pay attention to them with your heart. Make eye contact when the person talks to you. Show them that their opinions matter.

3. Show you have a sense of humour.

I do not mean that you force yourself to fall down laughing at every funny story cracked by someone, you do not find it funny at all. This means finding the funny side in things and not being too serious. A person oozing with an awesome sense of humor attracts crowds and sooner or later, attracts success.

4. Remember about yourself.

In the process of fluttering around like a social butterfly, you might yourself, allowing everyone to push you over. Remember, love and value yourself before anyone else. If you deem yourself decent and worthy of affection, people will flock to you and not trample on you.

5. Do random acts of thoughtfulness.

Little acts of kindness matters the most, and this can be as easy as giving someone a surprise or an elderly person to cross the street. When we were kindergarten students, thoughtfulness was taught to us and practiced. Right now is the time to reawaken the good deeds and this time, let them stay for good.

6. Get in touch with your old friends.

Sad how some friendships are destined to finish, but thanks to technology, you can do something about it. Having good friends will make you feel great.
7. Improve your outlook on life.

Are you crabby, grumpy and generally depressed? Slow down you cannot act like that!. Get rid of the bad traits and habits that forever hamper your growth. And really, who wants a grumpy friend anyway?

8. Be confident.

Walk into a room, smile and chat to people. Make them feel at ease. Be confident but not too confident.

9. Stay calm and collected.

When mad, don't snap at anyone. Never throw a tantrum. Stay calm and collected. Be adult enough to take control of the situation and transform your anger into something more productive. As soon as people think your rage goes to volcanic proportions easily, they will find it difficult to come to you.
In the end, using people for self-empowerment means becoming a better and more amiable person. It's a win-win situation: the people know they can turn to you anytime and vice versa.
