If you would like to grow to be a master at cake decorating, you will need guidance and practice or you can do it my way and have fun. After you have enjoyed my procedure you can study the ancient technique as well and turn out to be prominent in the cake creation trade. If you are a creative person you might go far when it comes to cake decorating but if you are merely in it for a immediate job let me tell you how.

The rules say to make sure your cake batter is perfectly level when the cake is cooked. This is a plus when the completed cake comes out of the oven. For my cake the end result was not level and the underside was even a little on the dark side, giving that thin layer a bad flavor. So I waited for it to cool, flipped it over and dumped it out of the pan. Straight away the cake was upside-down enabling me to use a elongated knife to cut the dark layer off of the bottom and at the same time make it even. This looked so good I did the matching thing on the sides. Wow, I had a perfectly shaped cake.

I also wanted a few characters for my cake. I don't have a inkling as to how to construct figures for a cake, thus I took the painless path. I took a number of cookie cutters that were merely old tin cutters then placed them on a cookie sheet. I sprayed them with non-stick spray, then I put cake batter in every one. Once they completed cooking I had all the figures I required. I baked them, let them cool, trimmed them, and pressed them out of the cutter. I presume I could have just made a thin cake and cut them out like cookies yet this was my first cake.

At this point the cake parts were finished. It was time to ice them. I have never put icing on a cake beforehand and I was taken aback how awful it was looking when I started so I thought to myself, there must be a simpler way.

For my job I used natural old colorless frosting and prepared my own colors by means of food coloring.

The goal of my icing was to make it look smooth and multicolored. Well I had a problem with the horizontal part so here is what I did. Before I began to smear the icing on the cake, I placed the icing in a pan to warm it up. I warmed the icing until it changed to a fluid state and then added the color I sought after and mixed it in. This makes it very simple to place on the cake. Once it is in a gooey state, you simply pour it onto the cake and level it with a blade. Oh so nice, so smooth, so simple.

Immediately let that cool after that do the same with a new color, only this time just trickle the icing all over the cake with a spoon. In due course it starts to look akin to marble. You can do the same with the characters you prepared. Simply pour the icing on top and let it cool.

Although cake decorating can be testing at times, my system makes it fun, easy and very satisfying when you realize the beautiful cake is one that you created. With a trace of tolerance and a little creativeness, you will develop into an consummate cake decorator.

Even a person who is fresh to cake decorating wishes their cake to appear pleasing. I just finished a cake, iced it and added all sorts of ornamental things with the icing. It was my design and it looked lovely. This article will give you ideas and tips to make your cake look much better than a first timer yet skip the years of practice.
