It's got a lovely climate for all of the year. In summer the temperature rises to a lovely thirty 4 degrees Celsius, and only drops to a very nice 20 2 degrees in the winter. The inland areas are a bit cooler than the seaside areas.It has a tendency to be a bit wetter on the south and east coasts than it does on the north and west coasts.

The first languages are French and English, but Creole is also used. Their vehicles are right hand drive, as they drive on the left hand side of the road. Most of the population are Indian, but there are a few Chinese, Africans and Continentals. The main faith is Hinduism, making it ht exception in Africa, where all the other states main religion is Muslim.

Mauritius is renowned for having once been the home of the Dodo. This creature was still present when the 1st Continentals set foot on the island. It only took another 80 years before it became extinct.

Mauritius has very rich soil so the foliage here grows really well. This is due to the proven fact that it's a volcanic island. Its edges are circled by coral reefs which form lagoons. These are awfully safe with calm, clear and warm waters.

Mauritius has heaps of things to do as it is well supplied for tourists. It has top quality spas, where many relaxing treatments can be purchased. It is home to one or two championship level golf courses which should challenge even the most experienced player. The cities have many duty free shops especially for tourists and visitors.

If diving is your sport then Mauritius is definitely the spot for you. The coral reefs are home to many decorative fish, as are the fascinating wrecks. If you do not want to go diving but would like to see underwater then it is actually possible to take a submersible so you can see the sights and still keep your hair dry.

There is some great deep sea fishing to be had. The waters contain blue marlin, black marlin, a couple of kinds of shark, and also yellow tuns. It should be easy to hire a ship from the majority of the hostels.

You do not have to go far to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the island. It's got many forests to explore, and waterfalls to find. It can be explored on foot, or by hiring a bike, or perhaps a kayak. Mauritius is an island which has something for everybody. If you'd like to relax on gorgeous beaches, and enjoy some spa treatments then this is the ideal island to pamper yourself. If you prefer a rather more sporting vacation then this option is available also. Whatever your tastes, holidays to Mauritius mean memories of paradise.
