In spite of the cute nickname, love handles are not actually a good thing to have. How about beer gut or saddle bags, no one wants those. Muffin tops aren't too popular either. When you gain too much weight, this is a term people will use for the extra weight that sits on your waistband. These extra inches are little more than fat stored by a body that is not active enough to process all of the food that it is taking in. Spending the rest of your life with these love handles however, is not necessary. You have many options available to get into shape, lose that weight and fit into your pants properly.
You probably already know that the best way to get rid of love handles is to exercise. What you want to accomplish can't be done with just any exercise. If you want to reduce your body fat, you need to focus on aerobic exercise. This type of exercise gets your blood pumping and increases your heart rate. You will burn more fat with aerobic exercise because it requires more energy which forces your body to begin burning fat stores to gain energy during workouts. An exercise routine which includes at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at least three times a week will help you accomplish your goal. Over time you should increase to 4 or 5 times each week. You can also try practicing proper posture. Tightening your muscles for proper posture takes energy. Calories are burned as you expend this energy. If you are used to slouching then sitting up straight, especially in the beginning, can be a form of exercise all by itself. In addition to helping you burn calories, practicing proper posture can help reduce the appearance of the love handles that you are carrying around. Even more so when you are walking around. Proper posture just looks better. Slouching around makes your love handles look bigger than they really are.
Take the initiative and get up out of your chair. It is important to spend at least half an hour of every day exercising. A portion of this time should be aerobic exercise. The amount of weight you gain is relative to the amount of time you spend sitting down. To keep the love handles away you need to burn calories through exercise. Exercise will also improve your mood by releasing endorphins which help you fight stress. The positive benefits are endless with exercise. Therefore, start moving by turning off the television and putting down that bag of chips. Love handles have such a cute and fun name. However, most people find them embarrassing, irritating and annoying. There is no one who enjoys having their waistline exceed their pant or skirt size. Thankfully you do not have to live with this extra fat if you do not want to. Living a healthy lifestyle, so that you drop inches and use up that fat is a possibility. Watch those love handles shrink when you apply a little hard work and patience.
