Stay cool in mod-style polo shirts. They took look best with a bomber, and can work with any shape of trouser or jeans but finish off the look with a simple pair of plimsoll style trainers. You might feel the need to invest in a Vespa though.

Preppy style t-shirts, hoodies and cardigans make up another key trend to try this year. This Americana look works well with lose fitting jeans and white pumps.

Geek chic is well and truly here to stay. Work slim fit jeans and chinos, with military boots and mustard or deep red cardigans. Don''t forget your scarf when the weather turns sour. Opt for checked, distressed or jersey. Autumnal colours of, golden yellows, burnt reds and warm browns will be everywhere come September.

The world is your oyster as far as jeans go. But turn-ups are a key trend to try. Carpenter style, utility jeans are making a return too so look for styles with pockets, zips and hooks all over the place.

For the ultimate in city dapperness, the military jacket is a must. Teemed with low riding boots and you will be the coolest man about town.
