Of course, these solutions are great if you're a young-to-middle-age person with full locomotive capabilities. Most seniors who do not own a stair lift simply don't attempt to use the stairs, effectively cutting themselves off from parts of their own home. Conditions common in seniors such as arthritis or diabetes affect the ability to safely ascend or descend the stairway. This is why a stair lift is recommended for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
Moreover, stair lifts typically come with one or two remotes in addition to the one mounted to the chair. This adds a helpful functionality: to "call" the stair lift seat if it is on the opposite side of the stairs. This is very useful if there is more than one senior or physically challenged person occupying the same building.
Riding in a stair lift is a very smooth ride. They do not move very fast, but that is a necessity in order to keep the device safe. Stair lifts move almost as fast as walking, if you're a senior taking careful steps up or down the stairs. Stair lifts are altogether very safe and very useful, adding a great deal of value to the lives of those who use them. Seniors and the disabled aren't the only ones concerned about their health when tackling the staircase; their family members are usually very concerned as well. For the peace of mind you deserve, invest in a stair lift if you know someone in need of it.
