Guidelines Intended for Maximising Your Visitors

Maximising your visitors is around getting lots of people onto your website and getting them to look at as a lot of pages as prospective, whether they are looking at them in that visit or coming back tomorrow, next week or at whatever time to browse for updates and new services. You want them to think of your website as one of their favoured shops where they regularly shop at, or favourite websites where they read all new posts from.

Tip 1 - Sign Up To Google Adsense - It can be expensive, so take this one with care, but make some pay per click (PPC) adverts and you should see your visitors levels increasing straight away.

Tip 2 - Write Some Articles - Write and publish, then write some more! Each one can have a small search engine optimisation benefit, but also people reading the article may then wander over to your website after seeing what you have to say. Combined with a reason to visit the web site, this can produce plenty of cheap traffic, although you are paying for someone to write the articles!

TIp 3 - Get Involved In Other Sites - Look through sites on other sites, leave sensible, effective comments and a few people reading these comments should sooner or later wander over to your own web site. This only works when the people reading your comments like them and see that they add to the content on that site.

Tip 4 - Remember To Promote Your Site - Far too often I have to remind customers to include web site address in local press adverts. Also, put it on receipts, over the door of your shop and anywhere that your customers may see it. If they don't know that it exists, how can they go to it and tell their friends to visit?

Tip 5 - Offer A Referral Bonus - Only really for the shop or at least a product on offer, but give current customers a reward for referring a friend. Easy to do and should generate many new business!

Tip 6 - Special Offers - This does not just apply to shops! Websites can do it to. For example, offer a free ebook or discount code for signing up to the ezine. This encourages them to give you their email address, so that you can then entice them back to your site. Give the offer of ebook, then offer a new offer the next month or an additional ebook the next week so that they pay attention to your weekly newsletter and look forward to it. They will keep reading and visiting your site for more information!

Tip 7 - Give Your Reader More To Read - If they don't like the product they are looking at, or have got to the bottom of your fascinating article, don't just let them leave the website! Make sure that at this part of the page there are different products or additional related articles for them to read. Don't lose your visitor just because they have reached the end of what they were looking at!

Tip 8 - Don't Bother Them With Too Much - Numerous flash animations, movement on the screen and too loads of add positions are all recipes for upsetting your visitors and scaring them away. Don't do them!

They are my favourite tips for maximising your visitors - get more people onto your web site and keep them on!
