A casual cookout can have whatever outdoor grilling and side items that interest you. Open houses often work well with a buffet-style menu, finger food selection, or with simple hors d'oeuvres.

Making the final guest list is next. While you must have a ballpark idea of the number of guests in order to make the right decisions about the location, type of party, and menu, you're now getting down to the nitty-gritty details of each and every person to be included on the guest list.

Choosing a theme for the party is an option. Many grads enjoy structuring the whole event around a theme. Perhaps the most common theme is graduation itself but a close second is a sports-related theme.

The decorations! Here's the really fun part, especially with so many great accessories available. Standard party decorations like streamers, confetti, and balloons are wonderful, and you can find ones that fit well with your party theme.
