Camping is a rapidly growing leisure activity these days, enjoyed by more each and every year since it can be both as relaxing as you want to get or as rousing and physically strenuous as you dare to push yourself. When the weather changes you can simply add to or take away articles of clothing.

Another precaution is to pack your important papers, documents and wallet in a secure waterproof pouch or case that keeps not only the rain out but also the dampness that you will encounter outdoors. This is essential today as we accumulate more and more electronic devices such as cellular phones and MP3 audio players that are no longer left at home - but are always by our side.

Packing items that can help pass the time or provide recreation is also a good tip that a veteran camper might recommend. Playing cards and a board game or two can provide a substitute for that nature walk that might need to be postponed for an hour or two. Don't forget to pack a good book to help pass the time as well.

Once you are at your camping site make sure you take the time to occasionally monitor the weather conditions with a radio or smart phone. Even if the sky looks perfect it is still a good idea to check in on a forecast from time to time. Preparation and readiness are rewarded in the wild of nature.

And the most important key to camping is to have a good time enjoying family, friends and loved ones. With a small amount of time invested in pre-planning and preparation, this will be an easier goal to achieve - regardless of the weather.
