1. It is better to submit to a few good directories than to countless worthless ones.

Not all links are equal - links from sites respected by Google, frequently indexed and not spammy are worth much more than links from spammed sites that Google gave up indexing. Before submitting to a directory, see how well it is indexed in Google.

2. Use your keywords smartly.
