Making some small changes to the way you do things can really pay off for you in the future.

Diet and exercise can play a critical role in your chance of developing prostate cancer and can even effect the severity of benign prostate enlargement. Learning to eat better, exercise more and get regular exams can dramatically decrease your chances of significant prostate problems. As men age it becomes even more important to pay attention to prostate health.

Diet
The things that you eat and drink can have a massive impact on your prostate health. Men who regularly drink in excess of two drinks in an evening have a greater risk of developing prostate issues. Those who smoke are also at a higher risk. Things like junk food consumption and eating a lot of greasy, oily foods can reduce your prostate health, as well. Even things like drinking too much coffee can keep you from having a really healthy prostate.

While decreasing consumption of those things can certainly improve your prostate health, it is also important to increase consumption of other things. Free radicals in the body are a major factor in contributing to cancer and other illnesses. Increasing your intake of anti-oxidants that combat free radicals is an important part of maintaining prostate health.

Exercise
Increasing exercise is also an important part in improving prostate health. Studies have shown that mean who regularly exercise may have as much as a 65% reduction in their risk of developing prostate cancer. Exercise can also help reduce the severity of the benign prostate enlargement that almost all men have to face at some point in life.

Aerobic exercise could help to improve your prostate health. Men who exercise hard and often seem to have less risk of significant prostate issues. In fact, even engaging in lighter aerobic exercise, like jogging each morning, could reduce your risk.

Exams
There are no guarantees in life, even if you act to reduce your chances of prostate cancer and increase your prostate health. That is why it is important to get regular prostate exams from your doctor. Prostate exams improve your chances of finding prostate cancer before it's too late.
