First Dude Might Be the Speed in Belmont Betting

The winner in Belmont Stakes gambling may be First Dude who came in second in the Preakness Stakes.

First Dude likes to run close to the pace and that is the style that wins in Belmont Stakes gambling. First Dude won back in January at Gulfstream Park as he was racing near the front before taking the lead. Fly Down ran him down late before he could do the same thing in his next race. Fly Down has been known to have closing speed, so that kind of race could develop again on Saturday. First Dude seemed to be off the pace in the Florida Derby and Blue Grass but he set the pace in the Preakness. He struggled with Lookin at Lucky just before failing in the end.

Trainer Dale Romans has said that First Dude does not have to be on the lead but with no true speed horses in the Belmont Stakes gambling field, he expects his horse to set the pace. When you consider the Belmont Stakes odds you can see First Dude as one of the main contenders and he may simply have the racing form to head this race and hold on for the win.
