Apple has made it a tradition to launch a new smart phone every summer. 2007 saw the original Iphone, 2008 saw the Iphone 3G and now the company is all set to launch the brand new Iphone 3G S. The new baby of Apple the Iphone 3G S will be released on next Friday 19th June 2009. We all are waiting for the new edition of the Iphone eagerly.

So the question here is how will it differ from the present Iphone 3G?

New features being introduced in Iphone 3G S:

Speed: As we all see the new Iphone has an “S” in its name which means speed. The new Iphone will be 2 times faster and responsive then the present Iphone 3G. Games will work 2.4 times faster and NYtimes.com webpage will open 2.9 times faster then the present Iphone 3G. All this is possible because the new Iphone 3G S will come with a 600 MHz processor over the present 412 MHz processor and a RAM of 256 MB over the 128 MB that the present Iphone 3G gives.

Gaming: The new Iphone 3G S will have Imagination Technologies Power VR SGX graphic processor which will work with the GLES 2.0 technology for better gaming experience.

Looks: The Iphone 3G S is said to be having an oleo phobic coating. This will make it easy to wipe off the finger prints.

Compass application: The new Iphone 3G S will have a compass application capable of telling you the direction you are facing, this is a new feature that is not present in the present Iphone 3G .

Similar compass has been integrated into the Map application that will tell you the direction oriented. This is an extra add-on to the GPS navigation.

Voice Control: This is an exclusive feature in Iphone 3G S which has not been initiated in any phone of Iphone family. With this technology, you can hold the home key for few seconds and say the name of the person you want to call. Iphone 3G S then calls that person with its new Voice recognition control system.

Much more exciting technology is being introduced to see the application of this voice control feature in the music gallery as now you can play the song by just saying “play, my song” where my song can be any song of your choice. Voice control will support 21 languages. Apple has upgraded the camera from present 2 mega pixels to 3 mega pixels that will surely boost its picture quality and video recording.

The new Iphone also has an option for shooting movies specifically at 30fps. Along with all these new features Iphone 3G S will also have Nike+ integration and “Tap to focus” features. Apple has set the price range for new Iphone 3G S to be $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB.
