Many people feel a refurbished component will be almost equal to a new one, thanks to rigorous testing of that component before it is shipped and a new warranty, refurbished components are becoming popular.

Thanks to a new component warranty and in depth testing before it is shipped, it is believed by many that refurbished components are almost as good as a brand new one. There are those who disagree however so lets look at the arguments for both sides.

Those who believe refurbished laptops are a great option argue their point with the fact that most refurbished components come from laptops that failed during the testing stage because of a minor fault, their components are then used in other laptops and named refurbished, or the components that were not working are replaced and the laptop is then called a refurb. With this the case most refurbished laptops have no real issues and are therefore as good as a new one.

There is also the fact that a refurbished laptop can be bought for such a good price, you can save upwards of 50% on a refurbished laptop, allowing you to get a great amount of bang for your buck, something everybody wants when it comes to purchasing laptops. Some refurbished laptops are simply returned laptops that have cosmetic damage, the components are all tested and found to be working but the price is low because they are not brand new and their casing has some damage, it could be very little but it is still classed as damage.

The fact is you may very well get a great deal on a refurbished laptop that is as good as a new one except some of the components came from laptops that had issues, this does not mean the components you get have problems, although you can not be sure, this is a risk you have to take, if you want to take the chance to save a lot of money then it may well pay off.

Refurbished laptops that merely have cosmetic damage are usually a great option because the components inside are fine it is just the casing that has the issue, which could be something as tiny as a little scratch on the case. If you are getting a refurbished laptop, make sure you get one that comes with a warranty period of at least 6 months.

Factory refurbished laptops are quite simply great value, selling at between 20% and 50% off retail price. The number one reason consumers buy factory refurbished laptops is price. Whether you need a laptop for school, a new business venture, or just internet surfing, a factory refurbished laptop allows a consumer to purchase a quality branded computer for a smaller outlay than a comparable new computer. This is a great way to buy a cheap laptop.
Factory refurbished computers may have some minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with having been de-boxed and used for a short period of time by the original purchaser. They may also be sold in generic boxes or containers and not include all the original inclusions and documentation. Before purchasing a factory refurbished laptop, determine exactly what you are getting with your laptop.
