How to use cloth scraps in a creative scrap book or project

Step 1
Once you purchase the Wonder Under or similar material in an off brand, read the instructions for accurate ironing temperature and other tips.

Step 2
Take your cloth and lay in on the Wonder Under. Iron it at the recommended temperature. This is a great way to use up remnants of material . If you are not into sewing any cloth store or craft shop that sells cloth will have a remnant section. Locate bits and pieces of material that show large items, animals, angels, dinosaurs etc. that your children are interested in. Or, Locate cute cloth with small designs and trace your own image to be cut out. Cookie cutters, handprints, and letter are ideal.

Step 3
Now have your children cut out shapes from the cloth, or draw a picture or letters of their name. They actually can cut anything their imagination tells them. It's fun to customize book bags, or pillow cases, or tee shirts, even an apron. It's great to enhance a scrapbooking pages and much less expensive than all the embellishments that are for sales. Anything that can be ironed can be fused with Wonder Under.

When the craft material first became common in the 80's sweat shirts were covered with fused cloth and then the edges were traced with cloth paint to seal the edges. That is still a nice touch, and keeps the edges from coming loose.

Tips - Warnings
** Gift bags can also be decorated with fused cloth.

** Metal and wood items can be personalized with leftover cloth from a bed spread or curtains.

** Personalize your child's room with matching accessories .
Make sure children are supervised when using a hot iron and scissors.
