Everyone tells a little lie at some point in our lives and that is just human nature. Even the examples of persuasion we'll talk about agree with that. However, there are some that lie without need and can't help but to tell stories that may not be true. These people are known as pathological liars and the condition is still being argued over by experts. Whether or not you believe that the condition is real, the liars are undeniable. These ten examples of persuasion and persuasive tips will help you treat the habit.
Tip 1: Long Term Psychotherapy
Visiting with a psychotherapist will help the liar to find the root cause of their condition. At the same time, it could also backfire and the liar feed the therapist with false stories.

Tip 2: Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Aside from examples of persuasion, much like the usual therapy, this kind gives the patient take home activities such as journaling or art. These things the therapist can analyze and figure out what is going on inside the person.

Tip 3: Family and friend support
If the person has the support of loved ones he will likely keep his motives to stay in treatment and not give up. The may be able to provide some tips for the liar.

Tip 4: Determine other illnesses
This might not be related to examples of persuasion, but one of the first things a doctor needs to know when he is examining the pathological liars is whether or not there are other mental illnesses. If you can treat the other illnesses it may give the patient the motivation to work on overcoming the lying condition.
Tip 5: Track any changes
Tracking changes in the behavior can tell you if you are going the right way with treatment.
Tip 6: Give it time
If the liar is given medication to calm their lying, you must give it time to work before making another evaluation. Use examples of persuasion to do it.

Tip 7: Check their self esteem
Many times the pathological liar is low in self esteem. Building them up and supporting them will give them the motivation and self esteem needed to complete the light.

Tip 8: Determine their past

Sometimes the liar lies because of trauma and/ or abuse that may have occurred when they were younger or in the home presently. Tip 9: Stay back
If all else fails, just stay away from the person. This is probably the hardest of the strategies to follow through for but may be necessary.

Tip 10: Depression
The bad thing about the previous tip is that the person may suffer from depression. As you know from using examples of persuasion, if this is the case you should try and get eh person to seek help for it. Confrontations and cutting the person off may set them over the edge and run the risk of the hurting themselves or someone else.
