Every Successful Home Business Owner Shares This Trait

Considering I've never been terribly ambitious, it's a constant source of amazement to me that in two short years I've become the most successful woman ever in my home business opportunity.

While celebrating my second anniversary recently I began to ponder why I have been so successful whilst so many other work at home business owners fail.

I genuinely believe that everyone has it in them to become a successful entrepreneur but some people find it more difficult to ignite their entrepreneurial spark than others.

In just the same way that some people take to driving a car like a fish to water and others struggle (it took me three attempts to pass my driving test!), some fledgling home business owners turn out to be born racing drivers while others are still spinning their wheels!

But just as almost anyone can succeed in learning to drive a car at some point, however long it takes, so can pretty much anyone make a success of a work from home business.

It's not neurosurgery!
The key difference between driving a car and running a home business is that many fledgling entrepreneurs give up the ghost at the first hurdle, the first challenge.

If failing at their home business was going to cause them the same problems as not being able to drive, how many would-be entrepreneurs do you think would give up?

And that's the key to it. The majority of home business owners also have a job. Even though they may not like that job and all that it entails, the bottom line is that the world won't come to an end if their home business venture doesn't succeed.

Life as they know it will not change.
On the other hand, a life spent traveling on public transportation and begging friends for a ride because you can't drive a car is going to have a huge impact on your life.

And that, I believe, is the single biggest reason why people are much less committed to learning the skills required to be a successful home business owner than, say, putting in the effort required to learn to drive a car.
Using myself as an example, I genuinely think that if when I started my home business I'd had a secure income already and wouldn't have been facing poverty and hardship if I'd failed, I wouldn't be sitting here now mulling over why I am the highest achieving female in the history of the company.
I am certain that the fear of what would happen to me if I didn't make it is the single biggest reason for my success.

Put another way, I made a success of it because I had no other option.
In an emergency, we all discover hidden reserves of strength and courage.
I'm sure that if I told you to stop reading this article and run over to the nearest first-story window and jump out, you couldn't do it. Neither could I.
But if you discovered your house was on fire and it was a choice between the same 15-foot leap from your window or ending up as toast, the window suddenly seems like a much easier option, doesn't it?

It goes without saying that becoming a successful home business owner is a whole lot easier than leaping out of a window and a lot less scary!
But the point is that we humans find it much easier to overcome our natural fears in the face of adversity.

And that, in a nutshell, is the secret of my success. I was a freelance translator and had just lost my biggest client and half my income, at a stroke.
The prospect of growing old in poverty was much greater than the prospect of the work it was going to take to become an accomplished Internet marketer.
My research on other successful online entrepreneurs has showed that every one of them was fired up by the fear of what would happen to them if they failed.

So ask yourself: How safe is your present job? Your pension? Your kids' future? How about when it's time to stop work; have you put enough by to live in comfort in your retirement?

You need to come up with some fear, real or imagined which is going to put enough fire in your belly to motivate you to spend the 15 hours per week you're going to need to build your business.
Once you've done that - so long as your home business provides you with effective online marketing training like mine does - everything else will fall into place.

You have now acquired the fuel you need for your journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur and you can be confident your tank won't run dry.
