You can customize almost anything by using engraving. You can engrave computers, special gifts like engagement rings or wedding rings and people have even been known to engrave their mobile phones. This can be very useful both to make something special for an individual but also to act as a security measure. It is normal to have short phrases or a person's name engraved upon an item. Most engravers will charge you by the letter or by the word and so it can work out to be an expensive process. However, it can be very worthwhile if you want to make someone feel special especially when giving somebody an award. Engraved nameplates are frequently used around the workplace. These can be made quite special so let's look at three ways of making the most of them.
1. Always make sure that you spell the person's name correctly in the first place. Nothing can be more upsetting than being presented with your nameplate with a spelling error on it. Remember, also, to consider how a person likes to be known. Some one called Patricia may like to be called Pat whilst some one called Jonathan may prefer to use his full name rather than it being shortened to Jon. You should also bear in mind the correct title for someone and whether they wish to use it together with whether or not they wish to have any letters after their name included on their nameplate.
2. Write down exactly what you want to have engraved and ensure that your handwriting is completely legible and all spelling is correct and that grammar in is checked for accuracy before going to the engravers. It is very important to get engraving done correctly the first time because mistakes may be difficult if not impossible to put right later. You may be able to reduce the costs involved in the process by checking around the prices of different engravers in the first place.
3. You will probably be presented with a book or a brochure showing you all the different fonts and designs that are available when you go to order the engraving service. It is very easy for a laser engraver to give you many different types of fonts or designs including things that are squiggly or swirly. Take care, though, to choose something which is both easy to read from a distance, conveys the image that you want your corporation to convey and that is pleasing on the eye. Engraved nameplates say a great deal about your company so it is worth while deciding what your corporate style will be in advance.
You may choose to have one font and color for most people and reserve a very special high quality style for just one or two most senior members of staff. This can be quite a nice way of giving someone extra gravitas and standing within the company. Engraved nameplates also need to be cleaned so consider what materials they are to be constructed with and also consider the areas where they are to be put up so that you can choose matching and complementary color schemes.
