His achievements include three Grammy Awards and appeared in over 30 films and were estimated to have earned $4.5million throughout his career life. He sold 2 million copies of his twelve albums and was crowned the “multiplatinum album sales performer”.

He was a perfectionist and recorded the hit “Hound Dog” 33 times before he was satisfied. He gradually developed the desire to perform on stages.

Despite his career as a rock singer, he served the U.S military and was the Deputy Sheriff of Shelby County in Tennessee.
