If you’ve had sexual contact with more that 3 people in the previous five years, or if you are a male who has had sexual contact with another male, both of these disqualify you in order to donate blood. Another disqualifier is if you are pregnant or menstruating.

The donated blood is tested for: HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Brucella, Syphilis, VDRL, Chagas, Hematocrit, Hemoglobin, Rh Factor, Blood Type, Inverse and Direct group, Type and Cross match compatibility.
