Kernel is the core component of operating systems and it bridges the gap between applications and the actual data processing done at the hardware level. Kernel is basically responsible for managing system’s resources and making a communication between hardware and software components in the system. Computers and laptops are prone to corruption and immunity against corruption and virus attacks is never guaranteed.

Corruption usually strikes a system due to reasons like power failure, improper or dirty system/application shutdown, malfunctioning operating system, etc. Corruption of kernel results in system responding abruptly. Your system will become unbootable thereby making your vital data in the hard drive inaccessible. Due to these sudden corruption problems, users are often suggested to maintain a backup file to restore the corrupt data. However, if the backup file refuses to restore your data, or when the valid backup is not available then you need to use a good-quality NTFS recovery application to restore your data safely and accurately.
Suppose a situation when you try to boot your NTFS partitioned system and the system hangs surprisingly right after the Power On Self Test (POST), and an error message appears on your screen that says:

“A kernel file is missing from the disk.
Insert a system disk and restart the system.”
After the occurrence of this error message, the system fails to boot. The above mentioned error message might occur, if the NTFS disk data structure, which is stored in the Master File table (MFT) is corrupt or has been fragmented. This error will limit Windows NTLDR or boot loader of Windows NT from being read. As a result, the system fails to boot and the above mentioned error message appears on the screen.

In order to resolve this issue, follow the steps given below:
Verify system partition as an active partition by using the MS-DOS based Fdisk utility
Try repairing NTLDR file using this method:
1.Boot the system from the floppy using the NTLDR on the floppy disk

2.Shift the NTLDR file to a different location on a hard disk
3.Unfragment NTLDR using an NTFS defragmentation tool.
The above mentioned solution will surely resolve the issue. However, if you don’t find these solutions of any help, then we suggest you to download data recovery software to recover your inaccessible data or information. In order to ensure systematic recovery of your data, it’s always best to download data recovery software that employs powerful scanning algorithms as well as interactive user interface.

To download data recovery tools, all you need to do is search for the best NTFS recovery tool online or search for Kernel for FAT and NTFS which is a powerful recovery software that easily performs the task of recovering all the lost, missing or inaccessible information. The software supports recovery of Fat 16, FAT 32, VFAT, NTFS, and NTFS5 based file systems.
