Ordinary causes of foot pain include:

Badly fitted shoes
Until recently shoes were simply worn to shield the feet. Given that your foot has more bones than every other part of your body, getting them to fit correctly has always been a bit difficult.
Mass production has made shoes available to the largest part of the earth's population but it also promotes foot troubles from poorly fitted shoes.

Badly considered shoes (high heels)
Not all poorly designed shoes are ladies' high heels but contemporary women have been prepared to surrender function for style and as a result experience injuries from sprains, falls and misaligned foot bones.
Recently, exercise or jogging are under fire for encouraging unnatural movements causing foot, knee and back injuries in joggers and fitness participants.

Diseases and injuries: injury to the muscles, nerves and ligaments
Feet are subjected to nearly continuous use and the harsh environments of hard and frequently irregular surfaces and experience a wide array of injuries including:

Athlete’s foot
Bunions
Corns and calluses
Ingrown toenails
Various toenail infections and funguses
Morton's neuroma (a form of nerve damage)
Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
Plantar warts and
Stress fractures

Dermatological foot conditions are related to the skin and nails of the foot. Ordinary examples incorporate callus thickened skin, fungal infections like athlete's foot and both viral and bacterial nail infections.

Arthritic problems such as:
Achilles tendinitis comes from stress on calf muscles and Achilles tendon that becomes irritated while playing sports like basketball. Occasionally, the Achilles tendon can rip if it is overstretched: you’ll experience a unexpected pop then a sharp ache and it’s not possible to walk on the foot.

A bunion is an aberrant bony mass that forms on the big toe and points outwards, is unattractive and sore. While the big toe expands at the base, it can force the additional toes to crowd together and, over time, the big toe pushes out and changes the natural shape of the foot. Bunions happen for lots of reasons but the most familiar is wearing badly fitting or designed shoes.

Osteoarthritis of the joints and/or Gout frequently causes pain and tenderness at the base of the big toe. An acute attack of gout is extremely painful and walking is unfeasible. Gout is caused by build ups of uric acid crystals in the joint; osteoarthritis causes a breakdown and loss of cartilage in the joints.

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain. The thick fibrous bands at the base of the heel get swollen and the pain starts the moment you move out of bed. The soreness may recede and then return after prolonged standing. Plantar fasciitis is most common in runners, overweight people, women who are pregnant and those who dress in shoes with too little heel support. The handling includes pain control, steroid injections and rest.

Peripheral neuropathy is damage to the nerves of the peripheral nervous system, caused by diseases of the nerve or as a side-effect of systemic disease.

Anatomical disorders: flat feet (no arch), hammer toes and club foot

A flat foot, or lack of an arch, is a common, usually unproblematic syndrome may be there from birth or during pregnancy. Flat feet can cause the foot to turn inwards and predispose the feet to developing bunions and hammertoes. A prosthetic shoe insole can help rectify flat feet.

Hammer toes are warped by a bend in the center joint of the toe. They’re most often a consequence of prolonged wearing of badly fitted or considered shoes which have caused the toe to be stuck into the front of the shoe and, as a consequence, the toes twist and bend peculiarly.

Vascular disorders: PAOD (peripheral artery occlusive disease), arterial and venous ulcers, and varicose veins

PAOD is a constraint to the arterial blood supply and can trigger arterial ulcers of the ankle and foot, or gangrene of the toes and foot. Immobility may result in prolonged pressure applied to the heels contributing to pressure sores.

Varicose Veins may cause brown bruising to the ankle and foot, dermatitis and venous ulcers.
