There is investigation and survey done by the National Cancer Institute in US, they estimated around 192,370 females and 1,910 males will suffer with breast cancer and approximately 40,170 females and 440 males will die from this breast cancer in United States, year 2009. Although there is only a minor chance of man getting breast cancer compared with woman but both of them shall take appropriate precaution to prevent from getting breast cancer.

Breast cancer always form tissues at the breast especially the ducts and lobules. The ducts are the channels that bring milk to the nipple and the lobules are the glands that produce milk. Although breast cancer serves as the disease killer but very seldom people know about the main causes for the breast cancer. One of the main causes is the changes in DNA which result in the normal breast cells become dangerous as cancerous. DNA is the main source to make up our genes which instruct our cells to work. Some breast cancer case is due to the inherited DNA that runs in the families; therefore it is advisable to do more frequent body check up especially for the inherited breast cancer family to assure their life. Woman with dense breast tissue have a higher chance to get breast cancer where the number of glandular tissue is more and less fatty tissue. It is even harder for the doctor to diagnose the breast cancer with mammograms with the dense breast tissue. Other than that, race also has some effect on the breast cancer where the white women are slightly having higher chance to get breast cancer compared with the blacks. Age, gender, menstrual periods, breast radiation and etc also serve as one of the causes for breast cancer.

In order to reduce the risk of having breast cancer, it is advisable to have a baby earlier and not at the later age in life. It will be higher risk of breast cancer if the women have their first baby after age 30. It is best to deliver a baby in early age and increase the frequency of pregnancy can reduce the risk of breast cancer. Women shall stop using the birth control pills to reduce the risk of breast cancer where the studies found the risk of breast cancer will be greater by using the birth control pills. Women with breastfeeding to their babies can reduce the risk of having breast cancer especially the breast feeding activity can last for 18 to 24 months because it can minimize the menstrual periods. More precautions needed for those alcohol drinkers, overweight and lack of exercise people, where they might have high risk to suffer with the breast cancer.

We shall always observe on our breast for the shape, colour and feel. Therefore, a frequent breast self exams shall be carried out to help on breast cancer prevention. Any changes that noticed on the breast will indicate some symptoms and we might take care of it. You can look for the lump or knot around the breast or underarm. The clinical breast exam is suitable to be carried out for the woman that aged 20 to 39 once every 3 years whereby woman aged 40 shall take the clinical breast exam every year and of course with the screening mammogram every 1 to 2 years.

To prevent any un-desired disease occur on ourselves, we shall take note on our health conditions especially for yearly body check up and follow the doctor instructions for any health screening or examinations. We shall prevent first before it is too late.
