Considering the inclusion of a childcare facility in your business plan is a smart move, as one of the most common concerns employees face is the ability to find good and affordable childcare.

Whether the individual need daycare facilities, or only afterschool care for school age children, providing on-site childcare can alleviate many of their daily concerns. If they do not have to struggle to find childcare at the last minute, they are less likely to miss work too which is of course in the best interest of your business operations.

The addition of childcare facilities at your business also allows you to stage yourself as a progressive employer, understanding of your employees' needs. Employees see on-site childcare as a real benefit too which makes your business one that is attractive to good talent.

Just because you add childcare facilities to your business does not mean that all of the associated expense falls to you as the business owner. In fact, you can charge employees for on-site childcare and still reap the same productivity benefits from offering the service. In addition to an increase in productivity, you can include the additional profit-generating activity to your business plan.

You will have start-up costs of building, staffing and operating the childcare service but these costs will be well worth the benefits they can create for your business and employees. By charging employees for on-site childcare, it allows you to offset the expenses associated with the service in addition to potentially making a profit on the service.
