IR Cable Emitter, Network Router, Satellite Remote Control

Once you have all these equipment, you are ready to set up the hardware. The steps are easy but need to be followed diligently. You have to hook up the satellite box to cable jack on the wall. This needs to be done by connecting the coaxial cable from the jack to the RF In port on the satellite box. You now need to connect an RCA cable fro the A/V output jacks on the back of the satellite receiver to the A/V input jacks on the back of TiVo. It is now time to hook up the TiVo to the wall cable jack. Do this by connecting the coaxial cable from the wall jack to the “Cable” input on the back of TiVo.

Connect an RCA cable from the A/V output jacks on the back of your TiVo to the A/V inputs on the back of your satellite TV. Connect the TiVo to the television using the RF output and coaxial wires. You should now connect the TiVo to your network by plugging an Ethernet cable to the back of the TiVo and into the network router. Connect the purple IR cable emitter to the IR connector on the TiVo and position the IR emitters well. Secure all the power connections and turn the system on.

Your next intention is to program the system. The steps are simple and can be followed with ease. Once the set up is done, press the “system info” button on the front of the satellite TV receiver box. An address is displayed. Make a note of it. Press and hold the “SAT” button until the mode buttons light up. Enter “1” and press the pound key o the satellite TV remote. When you do this, the “SAT” button will flash three times. You should now press the “Record” button on the satellite TV remote. Now when you press the “System Info” button, it should read “1”. TiVo is now ready to control your satellite TV receiver.
