Christian websites traditionally promote Christian values. Today there is a tendency to become more commercial with ads and sales pitch than an emphasis on spirituality. I have been concerned that we should not slowly go down the path of the temple merchants that Jesus drove away. Religious objects and rituals can easily take the place of God himself in our journey. Since Christian websites today have a greater role in representing Christianity we need to be outspoken.

How can Christian websites help us walk closer to God? The owners, founders and editors of the Christian websites should realize that the call of God is the most important element in a Christian. We can lose sight of this important element and slide away to other less important and sometimes harmful elements of money making or fund raising and lose sight of the call of God.

God is the source and supplier of all our funds for our ministry. So do not ever justify raising funds as holy or important. It is not important at all in the ministry. What is important is our dependency and faith in the God who provides for us.

The moment faith gives into common sense and practical thinking we slide into unbelief and worldliness. The worldly thinking always tries to justify spiritual values and take over and ultimately defeat the spiritual forces. We need to walk close to God through our own personal study and prayer life.

Many Christian have fallen away from walking with God. They do not spend time alone with God on regular basis. Once we slide away from that wonderful and holy habit, we fall prey to the suggestions and dictates of the devil. We need to be careful that we do not fall away from following the living God.

Christian websites are published by Christian people. All of Christian ministry is run by some individuals. These individuals represent the spirit and life of the Christian website. The website will reflect the spirit of the person from the way it is laid out and portrayed.

Jesus said we cannot worship money and God. Money is important and a tool. Take care that it does not become a source for our trust or security. We can easily fall prey to worshiping the tool than the God who provides the tool. I may sound like an alarmist and wolf crier. But I like to warn all individual Christian who are responsible for Christian websites to watch and pray that they do not fall into the trap of the enemy and become victims.
