If you are facing some hard times in your Christian homeschool, here are some wonderful suggestions and tips to help you and the family survive.

Think over the reasons why you decided to start homeschooling to begin with.

For example, maybe a prominent reason was to have the family together more often. When you reflect on your reasons to homeschool, it's going to help put all your current frustrations into a better perspective.

As difficulties come up in your Christian homeschool, as they always will, call the entire family for a meeting. Discuss all the issues, together, pray about them and then you all can make decisions in how you will solve the problems.

Establish traditions in your family so the children can depend on them as regular events in their lives. Read aloud every single day because this is an extremely important part of the family traditions. It is the best way to teach any subject.

A way for you to make excitement and fun into your homeschool, celebrate all the unusual holidays as a part of the curriculum.

Is your family reading the Laura Wider books? Her birthday is February 7th, celebrate the day with cake and a party.

If you are studying the Roman Empire, look into the date of March 15th, this is the day which Julius Caesar had been assassinated.

Take time to ask the children what they're interested in learning. Maybe what you're teaching at the moment holds no interest in the children right now.

No one says you must keep going in that direction. You are in charge of your Christian homeschool. If your children want to learn what you're teaching them, you will have way less conflict to put up with. So, just ask them.

You need to give yourself the permission to free your children of a program or curriculum that just isn't working out.

A program that has the whole family stressed out, fighting and crying is not good for your Christian homeschool.

Really pray about the direction you should be taking your homeschool in. This is the best plan to follow.
