This rule means that if you make an even money bet and zero comes up then your stake is put in prision. If the bet wins on the next round you get your stake back, if you lose then it's gone. This is actually a very significant statistical advantage and reduces the house edge again to a very appealing 1.35%.

As you can see, if you choose a European table to play at there are very appealing odds, which means you can win with a little luck. The difference is simple really, if you have a choice always play on a European table. To maximise your chances of success you simply have to minimize the 'house edge' by choosing the right wheel. Roulette is all about fun in the end though, don't get fooled by the guarantee of roulette systems that work, because ultimately there is no such system.
