Choosing a Simple Cremation Service

It's not uncommon for cremation services to offer full service packages which include the memorial service, flowers, etc. What if you don't want the memorial service though and wish to opt for just the cremation? Most crematoriums will be happy to provide this for you and you can do as you wish for the memorial, whether you want to hold one privately or at your church or simply skip the formalities altogether.

Opting Out of the Memorial

Many people are now choosing cremation because it is a more affordable option. In addition, it allows for a very private process. If you want to keep things quiet and mourn on your own, then a simple cremation is the way to go. It allows you to deal with the remains and hold a private burial or scattering of the ashes without making it public knowledge.

For some, a family goodbye is all that is needed. The ashes may be kept in an urn, which is traditional, but there is nothing to say you can't store them in something more meaningful, such as a specially carved box or a keepsake of the one who has passed on. These are very personal decisions and there is no need to feel pressured into purchasing extras that you don't need.

Choose a package that offers everything you need for a simple cremation and you will only need to make one decision. This is often the cheaper way to go, as well.

What's Included?

Usually, when you look at what cremation services have to offer, you'll find that there is a lot more to think about than merely the cremation. For example, you'll need to arrange transportation from the place of death to the crematory and the law requires that the remains be enclosed in a particular type of container during the actual cremation. A package will ensure that all of this is taken care of and you won't need to pay extra or make extra decisions.

There may also be a more economical option available, if you wish to have a cremation but don't have the money. This is where the remains are placed in refrigeration until the crematory has a time slot. It could mean up to two days of waiting for the ashes and many people prefer to know when they will receive the ashes of the deceased.

There are many cremation services which are more than willing to offer simple packages that cover everything you need, yet allow you to make the decisions about the memorial, as well as the urn. You'll be given basic services, without the extras, which can be far more economical and easier to deal with. Don't hesitate to choose this option if it is what the deceased would have wanted.
