There is study based solely on this principle that is known as color psychology. Colors do indeed have a great effect on our senses. This makes us realize that it important to choose colors that will create a relaxing and enjoyable ambience in our homes.

Colors have different properties and affect us accordingly. In fact, it is shown in certain studies that color evokes an almost immediate emotional response from humans. Here are some common colors and the effects they evoke to help you on your journey to color choices you and your family will appreciate:

Green: This color can be seen everywhere in nature. It is perhaps the most relaxing and natural color available. Perfect used in bedrooms, it has also become a popular choice for kitchens. Combined with brown, it has an organic feel.

Red: Powerful and dramatic, this color choice is one of the most common, but must be used carefully, Dark red creates a warm feeling comfortable and welcoming in a family room. It is also a great accent color.

Black: Black can be very overwhelming if used too extensively. This is not a good choice to paint an entire room, but better used with another color or as an accent. Black and white together makes a striking combination loved by many.

White: This color brings to mind a few words: peaceful, serene, and clean. Many people enjoy using this color in bedrooms and bathrooms. It can have a very calming restful effect

Blue: This color is popular in bedrooms and bathrooms because it is very soothing. It is not always a good choice for those who live in cooler climates, as it is a cold color.

Brown: This color can be used extensively in your home to add to your color scheme. It looks especially good combined with other warm colors.

Yellow: This is one of the most cheerful color options available. This is a good color to use in any room where lighting is limited.

You must keep in mind that every color has many different varieties and variations. A light yellow would have a much different effect than bright neon yellow. The light in each room of your home will also have a great effect on the colors that you see.

I good idea is to try a few paint samples and do a test patches on your walls. Live with it for a few days and see how it looks during different times of the day. Once you find a result that you are happy with, then you can move forward. You also can speak with a paint expert in a store to help with any questions or concerns you may have.

Painting is a very easy and inexpensive way to transform your home and give it an entirely new feel. Happy painting and enjoy your new home!
