With regards to jobs, by decentralizing the energy grid provides local jobs in a stable industry. Small-scale generation is also a direct incentive for energy efficiency, a key element in tackling global warming. The small-scale energy producer gets compensated on how much energy they produce, therefore the less power they use, the more cash they make. This incentive is the easiest way on a large scale to make people play a positive role in reducing energy expenditure. So how on a small scale can energy be generated from local resources?
