Today in the current fiscal crisis, it is even more evident how uneven our existing economic circumstances is, and many of these troubles are due to centralized power, money and industrial institutions. Basically most of the money, energy (oil, gas) and jobs that people use and are apart of are controlled by a few extremely large organizations. The trouble with this is that when they make mistakes it affects the entire market, because they are the marketplace. The other problem is they themselves are no most at risk from these mistakes. Take the banks for instance; while they caused the crisis from irrespirable lending, they themselves are now seeing a recovery while the rest of the market is going to struggle for at least the next few years. Things have to to change, and can be changed by decentralizing many critical areas of our life?s. A key area of decentralization that needs to be looked at is small-scale fuel generation. In Germany today this philosophy is being put into practice with great result. Basically instead of a few large power stations feeding the network, a large compilation of small power generators supply the grid. This has several benefits in terms of jobs and the environment. With regards to jobs, by decentralizing the energy grid provides local jobs in a stable industry. Small-scale generation is also a direct incentive for energy efficiency, a key element in tackling global warming. The small-scale energy producer gets compensated on how much energy they produce, therefore the less power they use, the more cash they make. This incentive is the easiest way on a large scale to make people play a positive role in reducing energy expenditure. So how on a small scale can energy be generated from local resources?

Improve your knowledge about Pellets
The first thing that comes to mind it obviously wind and solar power, and these are equally valid ways to create electricity on a small scale. However to in fact run a small business the size of wind or solar farm actually has to be quite large. So how could you run a small-scale energy business on local resources to make a substantial income? The answer is biomass and gasification. Biomass is organic substance that can be used as a fuel; this includes wood, straws, grasses and waste. Gasification is a way to break the biomass down into its basic fundamentals. This gas can then be used in an internal combustion engine to generate electricity.

The easiest way to use biomass in gasification systems in an automatic procedure is to upgrade the biomass into pellets. Pellets are compressed forms of their original raw material, and have a uniform shape, size and density. These features mean pellets flow like a liquid and are best for automatic feed systems into a gasifier.
