Carpet can be treated with scotch guard to help it stay nice looking. When you have kids or pets you will want to have that. The better quality of fabric the carpet is made out of is in the long run cheaper. It is cheaper because you will not have to replace it in a few years. The padding should be good too.

Not only is the carpet a concern but the padding is as well. The better the padding is the more comfortable the carpet. If your padding is good and your carpet is not a better quality it can still feel as if it was. The padding or the carpet should be of good quality to make it feel good on your feet.

Now, if you are not the owner of the house, then you should not be paying for any sort of redecorating of the house you are in, unless you do not mind parting with some of your money and ideas when you move out. It is all in the name of making yourself more comfortable. Now, if you are looking for a great summer home, you may want to look at installing tiles in your entire home, instead of carpets - it will keep you home cooler in the summer.

If you are not just doing the floors, and are looking to do a full renovation you will have a lot to do. Also, whether you are doing a floor renovation or a full home renovation you will be asked to stay in one part of your home. This means that you will have to spend days in one area of your house, with the whole kitchen in one room with you.

Because of this, most people decide that they are going to take a vacation when the renovations are going on. You could do this too, or you could pack up your things and take your family to go and stay with a relative for a few weeks. It is all up to you, but, if you have kids, you may want to think about the dust that will be flying around, the smells of the paints and the glue that will be used and the power tools that will be lying around.

Okay, before it all comes to that you have a lot of things to think of and plan. The first thing you may want to do is plan the layout of your new home.

This means you will need to decide which wall will be knocked down and where new wall will be put up. You will have to remember, if you are doing this you will need to get those plan approved by a certified architect - just to make things safer for you and your family in the future.

Once, you have planned everything and called the contractors, you may want to look for a place to store you house hold items, like furniture and your other belongings.

This would also be a good time to think about whether you will be going to stay with family or if you are going to take your family on a vacation, which could be a bit expensive seeing that you are spending money on the renovation.

Once all of the is done and your home is built it is all up to your to redecorate. Now, you may have already planned the paint colors of each room, and you may have already told the contracts to get the painting down when the building was done - if you did, you have saved yourself a lot of time, because you do not have to do your own painting - clever you!
